Children of Peace

I am the Co-ordinator of Children of Peace in Hereford and between 11th and 15th December 2007 a lorry kindly donated by Kirsty Chadd of Chadds Department Store will be at the west door of the Cathedral to collect items of aid for the children in Gaza. Items required are blankets, sleeping bags, tinned food, toiletries and most importantly pens, pencils, notepaper and files - in fact anything suitable for schools.

Without the co-operation of the Dean of Hereford, Michael Tavinor, this collection could not go ahead. Additionally, I need to raise the funds for a container and it's passage to Gaza. This will be Hereford's Christmas gift to some very needy children from many different backgrounds. It will enable them to be educated together and put behind them the divisions of the past.

I am grateful to the Children of Peace UK Chairman Richard Martin, who lives in Hereford, for inviting me to become involved with this very worthy cause.
