Information and practical help starting or developing school gardens

robmilnebook
I can design a garden to blend in with the site available and to suit your needs according to what you want to grow, the age range of the children, and the number of hours to be spent working in the garden.

A well-designed garden can be managed efficiently and productively. In a day at your school, I can establish your needs, survey the site, sketch a design and write a plan of action for the work that needs to be done. The design could then be drawn to scale by pupils using paper or ICT.

Charges

One day at your school will cost £200. If you require practical help on subsequent days, the fee will be £90.

Background

For twenty years I had a garden which provided all the vegetables and most of the fruit for a family of four. I was a professional gardener for eight years, mostly growing vegetables in walled gardens. In 2002-3 I worked on two school projects making vegetable gardens. In 2006 I graduated from the University of Reading with a B.Sc. in Habitat and Soil Management.
